Although you have friends, do you feel lonely? :24:

I'd like to know what are your feeling when you outside Thailand.

Please let's share yours!!

Which country do u live?

If you are, how can you do?

Thanks!

I've never been abroad for a long period of time just for a short trip so I haven't had any such feeling.

It's very lonely, but I don't think it's different from what I felt in Thailand.
No one can help me overcome the loneliness except myself regardless of where I am.
The difficulty of being abroad, for me, is that it makes me feel like this more often.
I don't try to do anything with this feeling now (because I can't). I know it just comes and it will be gone someday.
All I have to do is to minimize its effect to my life.

By the way, I'm in US krub. This is my first time abroad, so it's pretty hard for me.
I think I would be better as the time goes by.

"Loneliness" is the international language. Its meaning is the same wherever you are. You may live among friends and family and feel lonely.

So try to be "alone" and happy, not crowded but lonely, is the resolution krub.

ํำAbsolutely!
Many times, we are surrounded by lots of people, but it's still like being alone in the universe.....

In this lifetime, i just wonder how many of those we know could be really our friends....
And how many lonely nights have passed by with ourselves alone.

Post subject:  Re: Do u feel lonely when you are alone in abroad?

I just arrived here about 2 months krub. I still haven't felt any loneliness approach my life. This might be because I might just be here a little short while.

What I am feeling now is I feel like my life is extremely busy. Sometimes it is fun to manage time between study and hanging out with friends but sometimes I also feel like it is too hectic and I am not sure whether I can handle it for the following two years krub.

Apart from the reason that I have been here only two months, the reason that may make me not feel so lonely is because of the environment now krub. I am now living with three american undergrads and they are quite a party animal and ,you can say that, change my life styles krub. The tons of homework also torture me but they help me away from the loneliness in my thought.

So, in my view, I think if you are always keep your life busy and stay out of comfort zone so often, you might not (have time to) feel lonely krub. By the way, these are just my opinion krub. Probably, after now, my feeling might change. But these are some I wanna share krub.

That's very common, the party thing, even with the cream of the crop like the Ivy League crowd. It's one outstanding contrast I've noticed between Thai and American collegians (or even high-school students, for that matter). Most of my friends, when classes are over for the day, would either linger on on the campus ground, find a quiet place and settle in for further reading, or immediately go back to their own place. And their bedtimes are reallllly early. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, though, nor am i saying that all Thai college students behave this way. This is just a zeroing in on the proportion.

I agree with you about keeping busy to ease the loneliness. When you immerse yourself completely in your assignment and study, being in the zone, there won't really be a room left for excessive social needs. But the problem is it's sorta easier said than done :ummm:

Anyways, thanks for sharing krub P'Nikey.

Busy = Business ???? isn't it????

Being a grown-up business man is always busy??
Study is also the same story, more or less.

Totally head over heel agree with you that when you keep busy, your loneliness will be gone.
But be noted that it will not go far...
One day, when the sun shines and the sky cries, it will come back and say hi.
To me, i believe no matter where you are, Thailand or outside the border, it is the same.
Instead, i think being abroad can have lots of things to learn and discover....more than sitting & crying here...

To K Price PP
what i want????
All i want for Christmas is youuuuuuuuuuu....

Hi, im new here. so treat me with generosity. :)

Anyway, let's get to the topic.

I've been living in Singapore for 6 years, now im 18. My dad has sent me here to study since i was 12. It was quite lonely back then even though i have many friends, both locals and thais. I find studying abroad quite lonely sometimes since there arent many gays here compared to thailand and most of them took quite some time to realize who they really are, so the gay guys here are much older than me, leaving me with no choice but to be single. LOL.

Most of the time i would just tried to enjoy the time i had with my friends but most of the time the loneliness will get back me no matter how desperate im trying to run from it.

Conclusion, i think that im lonely because im still single. Maybe getting yourself a bf is solution but above of all is loving yourself na kub. :) Dont let the loneliness get you down. ^_^

A boyfriend is hard to get, let alone coming across a nice and compatible one (not saying it as a fact. I know some are so good-looking and/or charming that their love life's always coming up roses, but at least it's applicable to me and many people I know). I agree with you 100%. Self-loving should be crowned the top place of the priority list. It won't only do you good but those around you as well, kinda have a ripple effect or something of the sort.

In the meantime, why don't you make some acquaintances on here? Visit other boards since they're all seemingly more populated than this one. You're still fluent with Thai language, don't you?

Yea, i'm still fluent with Thai. I don't know, i haven't come across any web board that catch my attention. Any recommendations? Or maybe i could make some here. :)

Post subject:  Re: Do u feel lonely when you are alone in abroad?

Well, I meant to say here. But you see, there are further sections within this website, as you might have noticed. You could roam through TBoard if you're into art, motion pictures, photography, stuff like that. Or you could have a look at NBoard for songs or post the ones you like. GBoard's for general topics and apparently the most crowded section of all, if you wanna make friends I suggest you start there. Go post a self-introduction, most newbies do this as it's like a tradition or something (but come to think of it, I never actually did such a thing. lmao).

PS don't focus on socializing in here, though. iBoard's like a deserted island.

Well well well, it is just like that !!!! :16:

When few people come by, few replies are found....
I try to post as many as i can, but i gotta admit that i could not really come up with lots of words to talk.
Unlike Thai, my mother tongue, the feeling of using these two is different for me...

Sorry my English is not that fluent and native... :22: :22: :22:

Same here krub. Don't worry about the grammars or vocabularies, as long as you could understand each other quite right. This is the real meaning of language, the medium to make people understanding what the other try to pursue. [My old friend, British English mother tongue, once told me]
