Post subject:  Having Doubt with Some English Sentences..

Some of you may know that right now I have a task to improve my English in limited time.
So I try to get used to it by getting my life concerned with English as much as possible.

Listening to Eng songs is one of the ways that I use.
But after I have been listening Eng songs I have met a lot of sentences or phases that I don't understand.

I know that this board have a lot of members who are very good at Eng hence I decide to post to ask you some questions about the meaning of some parts of lyrics.
Thank you for your preceding help.

Below here are some of my question.

______________________________________________________________

1 ) Song : Last Goodbye- Atomic Kitten
Ain't no headlights on the road tonight
Everybody here is sleeping tight
Ain't nobody gonna find us here
We'll disappear
There's a dancer in the arms of love
And he's dancing on the sky above
And the truth is that we will never know
Will love full flow
Aim high shoot low
We gotta aim high shoot low baby

Q : What is the meaning of "Aim high shoot low"?

______________________________________________________________

1 ) Song : Love me for a reason - Boy Zone

I can't continue guessing
Because it's only messing
With my pride, and my mind
So write down this time to time

Q : What is the meaning of "Write down this time to time" ?

1) Aim high shoot low => this is direct meaning liked u intend to do something with strong determination but u did or could do with less effort. From the song, it reflected how desperetaed the singer wanna tell .

2).So write down time to time : => to repeat or emphasize what and how u feel at times ตอกย้าความคิด ซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก. The preceding sentence seems reflecting arrogance somehow.

I just read some book about TOEFL and I don't understand some sentences in them.
Could you all please tell me the meaning of the words in the below sentences.

1) "India is one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world
= Does it mean that there are different languages that Indians use?

2) What is the difference between word "precipitation" and the common word such as "rain"?

3) "As usual, their holiday was ruined when their in-laws'views on politics collided with their own."
I actually don't know what this sentence trying to describe. ^_^!

Thank you again for your replies na krub.

1) It means that there are many languages used in India, which doesn't mean the users have to be Indians, right?

2) "Precipitation" is any form of water falling to the earth, so it could be rain or snow or hail etc. Whereas "rain" is water in specific form of ... rain. :ummm:

3) Their disagreement on the opinion towards politics ruins the holiday. "Collided" indicates the contrast of their views on politics.
